Bennett Valley residence

Taking cues from the local vernacular this existing ranch home was reworked to capture prevailing winds, natural light, and to facilitate a connection to the land through bi-fold doors, floor to ceiling glass, and two raised copulas. This home also boasts a custom Johnny Grey kitchen.
Berkeley Residence

The concept of this three story modern addition is currently under design development. The building aims to integrate a full palette of sustainable systems, including solar energy, a living roof garden, storm water collection, radiant heating and a multitude of specifications that embody the Cradle to Cradle philosophy.
La Jolla Residence

Completed in 2007. Located directly on the west facing beach shores of Wind and Sea, this approximately 4000 square foot home was converted from an existing Mission/Deco vernacular to a new expression of Southern Californian coastal typology. The use of copper, reclaimed teak and local slate was specifically relevant to the reactionary process of its immediate environment.

Co. Clare Residence, Ireland

Currently under schematic design, this zero energy home will showcase innovative sustainable technologies throughout. With the use of geothermal and berming techniques, this building will be submerged into the Irish landscape. Above ground level the building will procure energy from a hybrid solar and wind system. The use of new intelligent technologies will control natural day lighting and temperature.

La Jolla Residence #2

This 2,500 square foot residential remodel is designed in accordance with USGBC standards and is aiming for platinum LEEDs certification. This contemporary home integrates a passive ventilation system (stack effect) that removes any necessity for a forced air conditioning system. The design also incorporates a self-sustained living roof and solar hydronic system.
Suzhou Residence, China

Facing west, located at the edge of the Suzhou lakes, this beacon for a new Chinese modernism gently cantilevers over the lapping shores. The building seamlessly integrates the archaic and the modern, both in the formed and formless traditions of Chinese architecture. This 10,000 square foot building was completed in 2008.
